Ruthanna Levy Dog Training
Thank you for our lovely lessons. You have such a great touch, I have learned beautifully from you. The grace with which you received the "sit" suggestion from the puppy parent, included.
Thank you again, so much!
I hope to take one of your other classes in the future! I thoroughly loved the whole class! You have a natural ability to make it humorous, fun and stress free. You have a real talent!
THANK YOU RUTHANNA!

Relaxed Puppydog, "I'm Cool..."
Ruthanna Levy came to Dog Training after 2 successful careers. One in dance and one in cooking. She trained at San Francisco’s California Culinary Academy and worked in several of San Francisco’s most prestigious restaurants. Prior to becoming a Pet Dog Trainer, Ruthanna spent 15 years as a professional theatrical dancer, culminating in her selection to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies to the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Almost 15 years ago, she took in a rescue puppy, named him Ziggy, after Sigmund Freud. He was so crazy she thought he needed full time therapy, and one day noticed a flyer for the SF SPCA Dog Training Academy, she took the course, with the desire to understand her new family member better, and discovered a wonderful new career, an avocation, not just a job, the best job.
One day a young girl walked into one of Ruthanna’s early Sirius Puppy Training classes and said, “You have the best job in the world, you get to play with puppies every day, what’s better than that?” she asked, chocolate ice cream, maybe, but not much else.
In addition to training Puppies AND People, she has found a way to combine her new vocation, dog training with her previous avocation, dance. The result is Musical Canine Freestyle, aka Doggy Freestyle, which combines dog training with movement and music, and provides a wonderful and enjoyable way to train adult and puppy dogs.
After graduating the SF SPCA Dog Training Academy, Ruthanna joined Sirius Puppy Training, teaching for over seven years under the guidance of world-renown puppy trainer, Dr. Ian Dunbar. She helped jump-start the puppy program for A DOG’S LIFE in Palo Alto and has now joined BRAVO!PUP in Berkeley, CA.
Ruthanna offers Doggy FreeStyle Workshops and Classes, a full range of Puppy and Dog training classes and Private Consultations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Ruthanna lives with her husband Jeff, a Graphic Designer, her dogs Ziggy and Breaker along with the kitties, Hootie, Papi & Roxie Heart.
